Indian cinema is known for its romantic movies. Every once in a while, Bollywood churns out an extraordinary romantic film, which makes us believe in the power of love. And they have done it again this time with Harish Vyas’ family drama. This movie is all about when love goes flying out of the window, a middle-aged couple struggles to keep their lives together and rekindle their romance that was long buried under the burden of domestic responsibilities.

The movie is set in the land of Ganges-Varanasi, ‘Angrezi Mein Kehte Hain’ is a stark reflection of perhaps the mindset of every middle-aged couple in the world. Everything seems to be going well for Yashwant Batra played by Sanjay Mishra who has a submissive wife Kiran (Ekavali Khanna) and a rebellious daughter Preeti (Shivani Raghuvanshi). But there is a strong aura of disappointment and years of pent-up frustration that looms over his household. Kiran craves the love and attention of her husband, who is too self-involved to care for his wife’s needs. Kiran leaves the house and Yashwant behind, does he realize the love that blooms for his wife of 24 years.

Sanjay Mishra is the perfect choice for this role as a male chauvinist and control freak. Ekavali Khanna as an aloof and withdrawn persona has done complete justice to the role of a docile and demure small-town Indian homemaker. Pankaj Tripathi, Anshuman Jha, Brijendra Kala and Shivani Raghuvanshi have done their roles well too. It has elements of romance and comedy, with a fun flavor that can be enjoyed with the whole family this weekend.
