There are films in Bollywood that are made purely for entertainment and High Jack is one such film. Don’t delve into finding logic. The movie is set in a flight from Goa to Delhi that is hijacked by some disgruntled employees of the airline, as they look to settle scores with the owner. Director Akarsh Khurana clearly set out to make a satire on political and social issues. Let’s check whether it has hit the bull’s eye or not.
High Jack revolves around the story of a young man named Rakesh (Sumeet Vyas) aka DJ Rockesh. Rakesh lands up in Goa hoping to play for a huge crowd at a New Years Party in Goa. But, soon he realizes that the “event organizer” has duped him and fled with his money. During a night of intoxication, he agrees to carry drugs with him on his flight back in exchange for money. To rid himself of nervousness he takes the drugs while on the flight. The flight is soon hijacked by a few amateurs whose motive is yet unknown to the passengers. The role of hijackers has been played by Mantra and three others. Finally, what ensues is a bizarre sequence of events.
The fact that it is a stoner-comedy is what will make people who like this genre to watch it. Internet sensation Sumeet Vyas steals the show. Kumud Mishra as a typical Delhi uncle performs well. If you are looking for a fun movie to watch this weekend, High Jack is the one for you.
