Actor-turned-writer Harsh Chhaya makes his directorial debut with Khajoor Pe Atke. He has given it all in this movie, with writing and directing it, to also singing one of the songs. The director has presented a dark yet hilarious portrayal of a family in crisis, which may seem over the top, yet is totally relatable.

The movie revolves around a family of misfits. Devender Sharma, the second of three brothers is in the ICU and may pass away soon. His siblings Jeetender (Manoj Pahwa), Ravinder (Vinay Pathak), and Lalita (Dolly Ahluwalia) fly from different parts of India, along with their families, to be with him during his last days. But the patient neither improves nor does his health deteriorate for a long time, keeps everyone’s life in a flux. They are unable to enjoy living in the city of dreams but they cannot go back to their normal lives either. The plot is simple and the realistic execution keeps it engaging, relatable, and entertaining. There are some repetitions and few irrelevant sequences that could have been avoided to make the script slightly crispier.

The movie has some great actors and amazing performances. It portrays a family that is very crazy and very real. Performances by the entire ensemble cast, mainly the husband and wife duo Manoj and Seema Pahwa, are top-notch and are the strength of the film along with the dialogues. It is the story of every typical Indian family with exaggeration, drama, and a lot of comedy. Watch it if you appreciate family drama with a touch of reality.
