After a long hiatus, RGV and Nagarjuna are back with a hard-hitting movie called Officer. Who doesn’t love a good action-thriller? Officer is full of guns, blood and gore but what the film lacks is a good story. This RGV-Nagarjuna reunion after 25 years raised many expectations with the trailer but we think it did not hit the bar.
Narayan Pasari is Mumbai’s top cop and is widely regarded as the man responsible for bringing down the city’s infamous mafia. However, Pasari faces charges of an illegal encounter and Shivaji Rao played by Nagarjuna is appointed as the SIT chief to investigate. When Pasari is found guilty by the SIT, a bloodbath ensues and it’s only a matter of time before witnesses are killed and the tables are turned. Heavy dialogues are thrown around every now and then and Shivaji is shown as the cop who will fight for justice and won’t back down until he completes his mission.
Nagarjuna as an IPS Officer is good. Even at his age, looked physically so much fit in the role. Performance wise also he has done a good job. Myra Sareen who acted as a lady officer played a glamorous role. The girl who acted as Nag’s daughter, Baby Kaavya, is cute and acted well. On the whole, Officer is a good script-gone wrong, kind of film. The proceedings are not that exciting. Better watch the movie when it is aired on TV rather than spending bucks by going to a theatre.
