Debutant Sanjana Reddy has made a lot of clamor about her debut film ‘Raju Gadu’. The story of a kleptomaniac should be a bone-tickler; however, this one falls flat. Too many plot points and characters. The director, Sanjana Reddy tried to pump in unnecessary comedy sequences during this time that they neither entertain nor have any prominence in the story. The story is complexed with subplots which made the movie a bit messy.

Raju (Raj Tarun) is a kleptomaniac since birth who cannot control his desire to steal. He falls in love with Tanvi (Amyra Dastur) whose family despises thieves. Even Tanvi accepts his love but with a condition that Raju has to impress her grandfather (Nagineedu) if he wants to marry her. Raju sets on his path to impress Tanvi’s grandfather but in the process gets in all sorts of a mess created by Anji (Rao Ramesh). Dr. Saima (Prudhvi Raj) keeps mixing up colourful concoctions in the name of a cure for Raju, hoping to someday be recognized as a great scientist. All these tracks are supposed to invoke laughter, but they don’t.

Raj Tarun is apt for this role and he comes up with an impressive performance. Amyra Dastur looks decent and comes up with an okay performance. The likes of Nagineedu and Rao Ramesh have come up with mature performances. On the whole, Raju Gadu has some fun moments here and there. Go and watch this movie with low expectations for few laughs here and there.
