Movies with themes of anti-corruption and misuse of power are relevant to our times, now more than ever before. ‘Satyameva Jayate’ (SMJ) is an action thriller that works on the simple premise of an angry man, fighting corruption with raging passion and violence.
Theatres are going to be houseful this Independence Day with movies that revolve around fighting corruption and fighting for freedom. After doing films like Aiyaari and Parmanu, both Manoj Bajpayee and John Abraham are back with another movie, Satyameva Jayate.
The movie revolves around Vir (John Abraham), a vigilante who is burning corrupt police officers alive. He annihilates them with style and leaves no trace. After two murders, this case of serial killing is given to a no-nonsense and a ruthlessly honest police officer DCP Shivansh (Manoj Bajpayee). The story proceeds as Shivansh tries to catch Vir and Vir continues to avenge his father by killing corruption. The movie stands true to its title. The two main leads of the film have imbibed their characters like they own it.
John Abraham leads the charge in ‘SMJ’. Manoj Bajpayee as is in top form. His ace act as the fiercely determined and honest cop adds credibility to the film. Debutante, Aisha Sharma, has a confident screen presence, with a little more work on diction, she could do much better. Truth be told, the story is relevant in today’s times, the movie is a hardcore action, a thriller that is backed by an emotional story. Watch it guys!
