DIY Face Masks for Oily Skin That You Can Do At Home
Having a glowing skin without the need to hit the parlour seems somewhat tricky for most women. After all, dealing with those pesky zits and getting rid of those greasy layers is not something an act that everyone can master.
But, as they say, time and effort will definitely yield results. It’s the same with your skincare regimen too. Here are some simple concoctions that you can brew at home to have that glowing skin that you’ve always been dreaming of.
Aloe Vera Face Mask
A tablespoon of Aloe Vera gel, two tablespoons of milk cream and a pinch of turmeric is all that you need to make this DIY face mask. Mix all these ingredients to make a thick paste and apply it on your face evenly and leave for about 20-30 minutes before rinsing with cold water. Aloe Vera will help in rejuvenating dull skin while milk adds lustre. Turmeric acts as an antibiotic and helps reduce zits.
Honey and Milk Face Mask
To make this face mask at home, you’ll need two teaspoons of honey and four teaspoons of milk. Add milk and honey in a small bowl and mix them well. Apply this mixture to your face and leave it on for at least 10 minutes before rinsing off with cold water. Honey is great for acne treatment and prevention and milk gives you a glowing complexion.
Turmeric Face Mask
This is one of the best home-made face masks for skin. Probably because it is very quick and easy to make. You’ll need two teaspoons of rosewater, a quarter teaspoon of turmeric and one teaspoon baking powder to make this mask. Mix turmeric and baking powder and slowly add rosewater until a thick paste is formed. Apply this on your face and gently massage with your fingertips in a circular motion to remove any dead skin cells and wash it off with cold water. Baking powder acts as a scrub and turmeric is good at removing any scars that are formed by acne while rose water energises your skin.
Orange Face Mask
Orange peels, sandalwood powder and rose water are the ingredients for this face mask. Dry orange peels for a day or two and grind them to make a powder. Add one teaspoon of sandalwood powder to two tablespoons of orange powder and introduce rose water as necessary to make a paste. Apply this on the face and rinse after 20 minutes. Orange peel powder helps in removing stubborn tans while sandalwood powder helps in reducing acne outbreaks.
Multani Mitti Face Mask
The ingredients required for preparing this face mask include two tablespoons of multani mitti or Fuller’s Earth, a tablespoon of tomato juice, pinch each of sandalwood powder and turmeric, and water. Mix all these ingredients and apply on your face and neck before washing off after 15 minutes. Multani mitti helps you have a radiant, clear and blemish-free skin while tomato juice is good for fighting acne and removing blackheads.
The most important thing to remember before you start making your own facial mask and using it on your skin is to make a note of the time of the day. It is practically no use to apply these DIY face masks and rinse off and then hit the outdoors. For best results, use them during the time of the day when you do not have to go again like before preparing dinner or late in the evenings. This will, the skin will sink in all the goodness of the face mask all through the night and will give you good reasons to start your day wonderfully – and more beautifully.
