Infertility is common in today’s’ world because of the intervened lifestyles, irregular eating habits and even habits like drinking and smoking. If a proper lifestyle is maintained with yoga for infertility, it can give an outstanding outcome without having any side effects like those with medications. Following are some ways show the various techniques in yoga for infertility.
Urdhva Dhanurasana (Wheel Pose)
In this pose, stand straight on the floor with your feet apart from each other at about 10 cm. Slowly bend in the backward direction as far as possible making a curve with your abdomen. With maximum stretching, place your palms on the ground such that your hands are parallel to your legs and perpendicular to the ground. The 2 legs and 2 hands form a pillar-like structure which is known as Urdhva Dhanurasana which is an ideal pose in yoga for infertility. It strengths the hip flexors and gives them a length and energizes the body.
Utthita Parsvakonasana (Extended Side Angle Pose)
This is one of the standard stretching poses in yoga. Bend your one leg in the knee at 90 degrees. Stretch the other leg as far as possible forming a straight line. The hand on the side of the bended knee should be held perpendicular and touching the ground. The other hand should form an upward line coinciding with the stretched leg. Stay in this position for about a minute and then interchange the positions of hands and legs. This pose in yoga for infertility energizes your body, provides a good stretch and helps you focus while strengthening your muscles.
Utthita Trikonasana (Extended Triangle Pose)
In this asana, take a breath and jump slightly and place the legs at a distance from each other while landing. Then keep one leg slightly inclined to the ground and stretch another leg as far as possible. The shape formed by your legs will appear like an extended triangle, hence the name. Place the hand on the side of the stretched leg on that leg itself, in a straight line. Stretch the other arm upwards perpendicular to the ground. Stay in this pose for about 40 seconds. This provides a good stretch to your hip bone as well as spine.
Supta Padangusthasna (Reclining Big Toe Pose)
In this pose of yoga for infertility, lie down on the floor on your back and place the legs in straight position. Loop one of your legs with a stretchable band and lift the looped leg slowly in an upward direction perpendicular to the ground. Hold the ends of the strap with both the hands without lifting them up. This will provide an ultimate stretch to your legs and also will increase the strength of your arms.
Virabadrasana (Warrior Pose)
In this asana of yoga for infertility, stand erect with your legs apart from each other at a short distance. Then lift left leg and place it a few steps ahead. While doing this, the hands should be stretched upwards perpendicular to the ground and palms firmly gasped with each other. Ensure the head, left knee and left foot are forward directed. The right leg should be slightly inclined to the right side and the right thigh should be slightly horizontal. Exhale calmly and stay in this pose for a minute. This pose also strengthens the hip flexors.
